Thoughts of a Growing Christian | |||
Thursday, October 11, 2001 So what's the true definition of a friend? Is there one? Is it someone you trust? Is it someone that is there for you? Or is it simply everyone you meet that is nice to you? Do definitions of friends become more complicated as we grow older? Because as a child I do remember once having that simple blind faith that everyone was nice. And when we think like that they call us naive. But yet sometimes people wish that they had that blind faith once again. So what is it then? I believe that there is no set definition of friend except for that really generic answer you find in webster's. I find that individuals look for different things in friends. And therefore that's why we have acquaintances, friends, good friends, and the rare jewels of best friends and soul mates. God has blessed me with alot of what I, myself, can call very good friends whom I trust, love and treasure. A few best friends. And along the way I've been hurt and betrayed on occasion but that's how we learn right? We make mistakes, learn, forgive and forget and move on. But sometimes people hold grudges, things grow awkward, and friends drift. Sad. posted by Sewa at 2:35:00 PM # |
