Thoughts of a Growing Christian

Merry Christmas Everyone! ^_^

This season, besides being gushy and mushy, I'm feelin' very thankful for alot of things.

-my family is healthy and together
-I'm surrounded by so many friends
-my international roommate from last year (she sent me a TON of korean goodies and other things). I miss them.
-being able to go anywhere and chill with people that are around for the holiday season
-not being sick with the flu epidemic (for now)
-and being saved by the coming, birth and death of my Lord and Savior, Jesus.

I hope you all have a great holiday season and a fantabulous New Year!

Another thing I've wanted to do in life checked off the list. Skiing! My bum hurts like a mom and my neck feels like I was a crash test dummy testing whip lash effects of different types of impact. But still worth it. Especially since we had mad awesome lodging. Much thanks to you and your parents Teri. We had a condo all to ourselves. The girls had the master with a big hot tub and king sized bed and fully loaded kitchen etc etc. Truely made my break a real break. So now I still need to do things like sky diving....parasailing...handgliding...and more.

It's funny the dumb decisions I make if I have about .5 seconds to think. Lemme explain (I'm still laughin' at myself). I'm sure you all know I'm terribly afraid of heights. But I do these things (ie. zipline over a lake) to try to conquer this fear. But once Teri drove up to the ski area I started freakin' out. So here I am in line to get on the ski lift not having a clue where this thing led to. I got on and yeah just about started hyperventilating. They have safety bars to hold you in for cryin out loud! I didn't even know how to get off and on! Good thing I have friends to help me. So here I am my first time on skis at the top of this hill, knees the consistency of jello. (Oh btw I didn't get a rope tow bunny hill deal...I just went down this super steep thing my very first time) So after about fifteen minutes of just watchin' people go and for by some miraculous power not kill themselves and crash into each other I decided maybe I should go down too. I was equipped with this knowledge...just lean to turn...just keep your skis in an A but don't let them cross to slow and you just gotta do it and you don't really need your poles. Righttttt.

Here goes nothing...OH MY FREAKIN' GOODNESS I'm GOING TOO FAST! I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna die...is this what Sonny from sonny and cher was thinking when he died skiing?!?!?! Oh crap I can't turn! There's a big turn comin' up! I can't slow down! I can't stop! How on earth do you stop?!?!? (this is my .5 seconds) What the freak do I do??? Ok can't turn, can't stop...hmm those trees and that small pile of snow doesn't look like it should hurt that much if I aim to run into that to stop...it'll somehow not break me and just....SPLOOF. I've run up the side into this pile of snow right next to some trees. *blink blink* I'm still alive! EXHILIRATING! AGAIN! AGAIN! So by the end of the day I only took one super horrible spill and I was pretty used to the ride up the ski lift and I've gotten over my fear a little more. Wahoo! I'll do it again sometime when I have extra cash cause it's certainly an expensive sport.

Oh besides that I watched a ton of tv and in that ton, the movie "Two Weeks Notice" is worth mentioning. Super cute and funny romantic comedy. I wanna buy that now and Love Actually too of course ^_^.
